As a person who suffers from hearing loss and tinnitus, I REALLY HATE THAT!!!

I've accepted that I need to turn on CC most of the time I watch stuff.

Same. If there’s too much background noise everything blends together. I either need to use CC, or turn it way up. Or just use headphones with my iPad.

We almost always do the same at our house.

No hearing loss, but way too many modern actors simply don't enunciate as plainly as used to be the case.

Watch an old film noir movie and compare with almost any modern film; more "mumble-mouth" nowadays.

And while the sun and moon endure, Luck's a chance, but trouble's sure,
I'd face it as a wise man would, And train for ill and not for good." -- A.E. Housman

Looks like we should start another thread about which movies and TV shows don't require closed captions.

I wish Netflix had a filter, only show me options in my own language.

I am now, thanks to this thread, so immersed in Letterkenny that my suggestion in the ‘why I’m selfish / criminal mischief ‘ thread is “find his mom, fuck her, and then ghost her til she ugly cries.”

That was Jeff Winger's plan to get revenge on a high schooler in Community.

I wish there was some way to even out the sound. I get it - gun shots and explosions are louder than people's voices. Fine in a movie theater, but I don't want to have to adjust the volume in my house constantly to both hear the dialog and not wake the neighbors.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Watching British series Line of Duty on hulu. Had never heard of it before finding it when looking for suggestions via google.

Definitely a nice surprise and bingeable.
There's nothing civil about this war.
