The Thing. They actually made three, so in a way that quote still holds true, but middle version with Kurt Russel is by far the best.

Yup, that's indeed another one I forgot!

The first one, with James Arness as the "giant vegetable man" (From Another World) was tame by comparison.

My condolences. How about this: everybody who didn’t go to see that turkey of a movie because of my review should go shoot up a box of cartridges in my name. Or make a donation to the to the 2A organization of their choice.

The Deuce (HBO) - A show primarily centering on the rise of pornography in New York City in the early 70's. Co-created by David Simon (the guy who created "The Wire," who also serves as an executive producer) which should give you an idea of the tone and grittiness to expect.

It's not historically accurate, though it frequently draws from history. Cast is great and the city looks fantastic - the sets are practically another character. Looking forward to the second season getting started next week.

I tend to run a bit behind with most tv shows. I'm finishing up the second to last season of "The Americans". I like the show, but I find myself unable to binge watch it. One episode every few days.

For the better part of Sunday and yesterday I've remained in close contact with the commode due to eating some bad taco truck food on Saturday night so I started watching season 3 of Fargo and I'm really enjoying it.

No but it would make life simpler, a 45 minute episode wouldn't take 90 minutes to watch after all the pausing.
