If one isn’t into Star Wars; let’s say he hasn’t seen anything since Return of the Jedi in the early 80s, what’s the best way to get into Mandalorian? Is it something we can jump right in to?

I think, if you are a casual star wars fan, who also appreciates the style of program of a weekly samurai space western... you can enjoy Mandalorian. It's a simple show at its core.

If you have kept up with the Star Wars universe from the prequel trilogy, the Clone Wars and Rebels cartoon series (which have some great stories!) and have played lots of star wars video games over the past 20 years, you're going to get a lot of fan service along the way and really enjoy it.

You are probably better off jumping in without seeing the most recent three movies.

The Mandalorian is set in the time period after Return of the Jedi- so you are set up pretty good.

Watched Jingle Jangle on Netflix last night with the family. Friday Pizza/Movie Night.

    The music/dancing/costumes were great.

The acting was quite good as well. The young female lead (in her first role) was truly excellent.

This film is destined to be 21st century Christmas Classic.

If what you watched was the regular version then it's worth watching the Director's Cut IMO. There are one or two scenes it could have omitted but it provides some good context and explains at least one plot hole in the regular version.
