I enjoyed Thor: Ragnarok. Light and fun.
Watched Hell or High Water - solid movie. A modern western. Jeff Bridges was terrific, and this is perhaps the only movie that I've ever liked Chris Pine in.

"When the phone rang, Parker was in the garage, killing a man."
Watched Wind River which was excellent and Daddy's Home 2 which I thought was pretty funny.

Saw Thor Ragnarok the other day, the movie was destroyed by comedy. If it had the same tone as the first Thor film, bits of comedy here and there to break the seriousness it would have been awesome as there were a lot of serious characters which could have really worked out well. Unfortunately, it was more of a three stooges type routine mixed in with unscripted comedy and top of the line CG. Hela's character was completed wasted.

Saw two movies this last weekend: Thor Ragnorok and LBJ. The former was just more Marvel tripe, the later was an interesting character study.

We may lose and we may win, but we will never be here again.......
We went to the newest remake of Murder On The Orient Express. I'd heard poor reviews, but it was pretty good, but I tend to enjoy all of Branagh's work. Being an ensemble piece, some of the criticism I had seen leveled at it was that this or that renowned actor wasn't really putting forth his or her best effort, but... it's an ensemble cast. Even Judi Dench and Derek Jacoby only really had one scene each. (And unless you're currently dating Emma Thompson, when Branagh calls and says "Do you want to be in my movie?" you say "Let me check my schedule.")
Certainly worth the five dollar matinee...
