    Today's shows:

Justice League Snyder cut - could have used a lot more trimming to make it a watchable length, but overall a lot better than the theatrical release. Flowed better, made more sense, better character development.

The Suicide Squad - "The", not the first one. Managed to be zany without really being funny. Overall thought it was pretty stupid. You do get to see pete davidson shot in the face, but that happens quick so you don't have to sit through the whole movie.

    What’s the backstory on that?
Just a dog chauffeur that used to hold the dumb end of the leash.

Lady Mariel, a member of the Russian court, had been stripped of her title and forced into serfdom because of what her father had done. While she was a serf, her bunkmate was Shaky. While Mariel was a serf, Lady Svenska had her beaten for insolence.

After Mariel was reinstated to nobility, Empress Catherine and Lady Mariel wanted to make a point that the serfs were the same as the nobles. They took Shaky, dressed her up as a noble, gave her the name Lady Anastasia, and brought her to a dinner. The other noblewomen fawned over Lady Anastasia, especially Lady Svenska.

Empress Catherine revealed the jape (as they called it) to the court. For being a part of the jape, the Empress gave Shaky an apartment in the palace. Lady Svenska was offended, went to Shaky's apartment and slashed Shaky's throat.

So Lady Mariel smiled at a soldier, borrowed his pistol and shot Lady Svenska in the head.

Kings Man, the 2021 "prequel" to the Kingsman series with Ralph Fiennes.

It sucked. Reasons below. It was really, really disappointing. 1 out of 5 stars.

    Spoiler (highlight to read):

The movie is basically, "war is bad, mmk?".

The plot circles aimlessly around the period of WWI and the three historic characters of Czar Nicholas, the German Kaiser and King George of England, with Ralph Fiennes' pacifist character running around with his team putting his finger in the dyke, so to speak.

Meanwhile, his likeable son develops as an interesting side story, THEN GETS FATALLY SHOT IN THE HEAD in the middle of the movie. I mean, W.T.F.

The R rating was most likely due to the incredibly foul language and clanging F-bombs dropped by several characters; to no point what so ever.

It in no way was what I was expecting: a fun and lighthearted backstory to the funny and slightly campy previous modern-day Kingsman films.

    Bah.

Thanks, you saved me about $20 for two tickets.

Den of Thieves: someone tried to basically remake Heat, but failed. Not that Den of Thieves is a direct remake, but it does borrow from Heat extremely heavily. Some of the cinematography is quite nice. The writing however, less so. There are some fairly obvious gaps in the plot, and the lead cop in this one is just a plain arsehole. Instead of cops and robbers where the cops are clearly the good guys and the criminals obviously the bad guys, this one is thugs with badges versus thugs without badges, and who the bad guys are supposed to be, and who the good guys, isn't really clear.
