That^^^reminds me that I started Welcome to Wrexham the other night. I'm enjoying it so far. I know they're actors, so take it with a grain of sand, but Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney seem like decent people, which I appreciate, and it's been pretty engaging so far.

I can suspend disbelief for so long, but not forever. Which is an issue with enjoying most any crime drama / police procedural, etc. I'd much rather watch Lucifer and know it's fanciful than something presented as quasi-realistic but with gaping logic holes.

How did you feel about “Justified?” It’s only as realistic as Elmore makes anything, but like most Elmore I find immersion not that difficult.

I liked the earlier episodes but it jumped the shark for me fairly early on. I think I ejected about the time his ex-wife got caught up as a victim in the bank robbery with money from the property room in her hand.

I can only expect that most all cop/crime stuff is frustrating if you're a cop. Just like medical stuff stucks for doctors. And nearly anything gun related is annoying for gun folks, etc.

Thankfully they don't make a lot of shows about engineers but if they did I'm sure they'd suck too.

Realistic cop shows wouldn't last. 1 episode of action, 3 of paperwork doesn't enthrall an audience.

Even if it was dead nuts realistic, I wouldn't watch. I want escapism, not more real stuff. I'd much rather watch magic space cowboys fight zombie moths or some such shit than watch what I can see out my office door.

When I was in 5th? grade, we had a substitute teacher who was a former LEO and someone asked him more or less the same question about Adam 12. He gave pretty much the same answer.

I tell people Barney Miller is the most realistic cop show ever.

Just like I've heard the "Scrubs" is the most realistic medical show ever.

ETA: I can't talk about Scrubs without including my favorite scene:
