    New Shooter Here

    Hello,
I am a new shooter in Canada. I recently purchased a Gen 4 17 and a Ruger 22/45. I am taking my Black Badge course in two weeks and eventually hope to compete in IPSC or ODPL. In Canada we are not allowed to CCW so my pistols will only be used for target practice or competition. My question is this, what drills should I work on when I go to the range? I dry fire at home and work on reloads and drawing my pistol from the holster. Are there a set of specific drills I should work on? The dot torture looks tough, when I am holster qualified should I try that? So far all my range trips have involved shooting at targets at 5yrd, 10yrds and 25yrd in ten shot bursts, taking time to aim. Your advise is appreciated.

    Thanks

welcome dude. Any level of shooter will benefit from drills like dot torture. don't let the fact that you're a new shooter deter you from trying any of them out.
...and to think today you just have fangs
