I was thinking, "Hmmm, great day for Gen4 Glock 20 fans." Throw a thumb safety on there and you've got your entry! "And how many would you like in each color?"

It's amazing how "unreliable" M-9's run like a top after being properly lubricated and fed with quality mags.

I've heard horror stories of abused M9s in the service, junk parts bought from third party venders... When I was in they were just issued and in great shape. My own M9 has been flawless.

Anybody knows what are the other pistols currently in use, and their numbers? My guess is:

The M9 is by far the most predominant pistol.
Second, probably the G17/19, probably tens of thousands by now.
    Relatively small numbers of P226/228
Very small numbers of 1911A1 and derivatives (M45 contract is only about 2300)
    Even smller number of HK45

Are you talking about the US Armed Forces?

If so, I doubt the highlight is even close to being correct

There are actually more P226/8s than there are Glocks in the inventory.

I think it is correct albeit who can say how many thousands; between CAG, Rangers and SF. The ODAs my son was supporting in 2013 were all G19s except for one lone dude packing an M9. When we were schooled by Frank Proctor he was in a Glock every day phase for his shooting and he said that was because his NG Group (20th) had all gone G19s so he was staying fresh with the system he was instructing them on. That was a few years ago now. They are really widespread.

Glock has been used by USASOC units for many years now, and is also in service with MARSOC.

I forgot about MARSOC. All G19. Which made the Colt 1911 acquisition so much more bizarre.
