Yeah, seriously.
Later in my career we tried better ways of getting information across. Slide turning was not one of them.
For large reviews mandated by 1521B (Government) process for Requirements, Design, or Production meetings, our best bet was to provide the slide deck a week ahead. We'd then cover it at the meeting and address questions.
The best reviews I got once was when we did a 'Pre-CDR' with The Colonel and his cell-phone carriers as a small team a couple weeks before 'The' meeting. That way, he knew the answers to the questions since we'd already given him the info. I was always more successful in a project, if I helped our Customer look good to his internal and external review team.
You also get better information about what the Warfighter really wants in these kind of less formal venues. Once the lights go up and you start the laptop and the projector, and roll in your team to give the pitch, it gets hard.

God help me, every so often I go look at Smith and Wesson's job posting for Assistant General Counsel, Commercial and Contracts, and think "It's the part I was born to play, baby!"
