Sounds like a “lever action .22” thread in the making....;-)
I got a BL-22 27 years ago as a reward for earning my Eagle Scout rank. It is superbly reliable and smooth. The short throw makes it cycle very fast. It is more accurate than a 10/22 carbine, but a little less accurate than my ancient Marlin .22 bolt action. Does not seem to be picky about ammo at all. My only complaint is that he stock is too short for me, but that is the case with almost any .22.

    I can pee outside.
Put me in the Mountie club.
Mine's a '52 iirc, and is insanely accurate.

    Mine's a takedown as well.

Hive mind - who is doing good lever gun work these days?

I need, at minimum, my 336 to have barrel cant corrected, but I’m honestly thinking of just having it chopped from 20” to 16 or 18.

I’m not going tacticool - just shortened, dehorned, and...maybe threaded.

RR I think it might be worth a call to Joe Alves. He has been my go to guy for all my Winchester '73 and '66 guns who's actions are not commonly understood, and he does. However I have never used him for barrel work, not sure if he even takes it in. If he does not, he likely knows a smith that does barrel work.

My real go to guy, the one I trusted for all my levergun and six gun work passed away suddenly 2 years ago. I treasure the guns he worked on for me, especially my Win'95 which is perfected for my use.

    I personally prefer Winchesters. I have a model 94 22M (.22 Magnum) that I don't think I'd trade for anything.

    I have both.
The "refinement" on the 94/22XTR I have is sublime, the accuracy stellar. Very visually stunning rifle.
The Mountie is-as accurate, but is more utilitarian in my eyes...

Steve Young (aka Nate Kiowa Jones) did a wonderful full action job on a Win Miroku 92 for me, and is well known for general lever gun work.

Well, my curiosities about the BLR will soon be satiated. Saw a used '81 lightweight takedown in .243 so I threw in the opening bid of $660 and turned out to be the only bidder.
