Reverse Osmosis drinking water - RFI

I have installed a RO filtration system on top of my well. I have been drinking RO water for the past 6 months. However, I found a number of articles saying that it's bad due to lack of minerals. Yet other articles claim the opposite.
Have people been drinking RO water for years with no side effects? Is it recommended to try and "re-mineralize" it ?

That depends on your diet and lifestyle. It's a possible contributing factor but if it is there are probably other changes to be made.

You might consider that most large ships watermakers were and many still are of the distillation type, which leaves even less minerals than RO, and people drink that water for many months at a time.

It can definitely be an issue in the developing world were diets are limited, but in this country if someone has a mineral deficiency it's poor diet or a health issue.

Surely, your doc can test for mineral deficiencies. I'd get a yearly test and supplement if low.
