Curious on opinions for what a "good" zero range for 12 gauge rifled slugs is. I've never had a problem hitting steel at 50 or 75 yards (I've hit steel at 100 yards with slugs before but only once or twice) but never gave the slug zero any real consideration. I can't really say that I'm well-versed on slug ballistics either.
Thoughts?
After some fiddling with various zeroes, I now use 25 yards as an initial intersection. My notes are not handy where I am, but my recollection is that works out to being on at 25/75 with some modest holdover needed at 100 yards. Using 25 as an initial intersection is relatively easy to do on most ranges, suits itself to the cruder nature of most shotgun sighting systems/triggers/inherent accuracy, and is appropriate for my most anticipated envelope of the use of the shotgun and slugs in an anti-bear role.
Likes pretty much everything in every caliber.
25yds for me. Also provides good parity for specialty munitions.

I always did 50, but that was due to the shotgun qual requiring 50 yard slug shots. Didn't have much of an issue keeping the slugs in the 10 ring at 100 with that zero either.
