    What does "friend" mean?

You can become someones "friend" via their profile. What effect, if any, does that have aside from making it easier to find their profile?

If you're talking about facebook, it means they can see your profile and you can see theirs. Depending on privacy settings, of course. I restrict my profile to just friends.

What if the friend was drunk and passed out on a couch and wasn't informed of the intercourse?
