Here's my old S&W 27-2. I believe I purchased it 1984 - 1986 when I was working for FCSO. I just added the Hogue cocobolo grips. The action is slicker than deer guts on a doorknob. From the Big Empty, ELN.
27-3, probably 30 years old and new(ish) to me.

@SLG I must have missed this when you posted it. Checking to see if all the chambers line up well with the barrel is one thing. Lacking a 22 range rod, theres a way to do it. Send me a PM and I'll go into details.
Just something at the LGS I’m not going to buy.
Edit: wrong photo.
Would have bought the 18 but was purchased while I was looking at it through the glass.

5 screw, no dash. I did get to examine it before the happy new owner left with it.
Plenty of shooting and finish wear, but nice lockup and slick action. Very jelly.
The 53 Jet was cool, but not on my list and way out of my budget. Same store and case where I got my 6” 28-2.

There's a local that has a model 53 for sale that pops up occasionally who wants $1000 for his with no box nor the .22 inserts. Ammo is available but it would be an expensive toy with limited utility.
