2:20+ Mark to skip past his almost retarded intro..

What's happening here???..he's not making it past the first with 556green tip and 12ga slug...? I've personally shot M855 in water jugs and made it into the 4th. Are the FMJs not going straight into the water and coming out the side?

Looks like he was using just a Wolf 55gr FMJ with polycoat steel case, no M855.......and the slug was a soft Foster slug. A 55gr M193 equivalent upsets quickly in water and will fragment into such small pieces that they loose their momentum very quickly. If you have looked at some of Dr. Fackler's old papers on M193 wounds in Vietnam, many of those projectiles never exited the body when they yawed properly. The steel penetrator on the M855 will not break apart, and thus retains more momentum allowing it to penetrate more deeply. As for the Foster slug, the projectile expands so rapidly that it decelerates almost as quickly as the M193. This is why M193 and Foster slugs are poor choices for many barrier penetration applications. Even a .50 BMG will yaw quickly in water and have very little penetration. Water is a brick wall if your projectile has poor hydrodynamics.

If you want penetration, use a projectile that has little expansion, and does not yaw. A hard cast .45-70 will punch through a dozen 1-gallon water jugs with ease. The cartridge was designed to penetrate a dead horse and hit soldiers using it for cover.

Down the road from Quantrill's big raid.
Full power Foster type slugs typically expand and fragment, and often penetrate no more than common handgun JHP bullets in water.

.223 FMJs often yaw and take off sideways, I have found those to be very tough to catch in water jugs, sometimes even gel blocks
