    The skipping chambers headache

Some of you may remember my 66-8 was skipping chambers. I thought I've fixed it several times and it keeps coming back. I've tried fitting everything but a cylinder so now I ordered a new cylinder to try that.

I think the notches are just worn enough that I can bandaid it for a little bit but not good enough.

This gun was fired a lot. With an absolute ton of dry firing. I've gotten down to 0.2 splits consistently in live fire with 2 second bill drills for a frame of reference

@03RN The cylinder notches are taking a beating shooting that fast. Not much you can do about it shooting that fast but fit a new cylinder and cylinder stop.

That is really good DA shooting your'e doing.

You are at the point that you have actually used the revolver enough that it may require a trip back to the factory for a full rebuild.

Just tell them that RN Miculeck the 03rd needs their services.

    Ryan,

If you don’t want to send it to Springfield, try Mike LaRocca in Worcester, MA. Worth the drive. He’s old school awesome and was trained by Frank Pachmayr himself.

    Thanks guys

It's not so much that I don't want to send it to Springfield it's more that I doubt it will be covered under warranty so why send it? Hopefully the new cylinder fixes it.

If it wasn't for the new rules with shipping guns I wouldn't hesitate to ship it off. I'm just not thrilled with sacrificing a day off for driving. Such a pain in the nutz.

    Well that was easy.

Except now I'm back to undersized chambers

    How undersize?

So you mean throats, rather than chambers?

A dial caliper isnt ideal, but may get you an idea. I do them a half dozen times and be sure its seated out as far into the widest point to see if Im getting the same reading each time.
