    Keychain flashlights

Didn't see much on a search. So I do have a wide set of EDC flashlights of various sizes. However, I like to have a little backup and carry a keychain. It's been a Photon light but they are a total pain to replace the battery. I never have the magic touch to get it right.

I bought an Inox that has three modes and it seems ok.

Any thoughts - the idea is small - not one using a AAA or AA battery.

I keep the light on a chain with a tiny Spyderco. Add my NAA 22S in pocket holster with 5 22 short reloads and I have a lilliputian back up set up.

I have been pocket carrying a PowerTac E1 daily for a few years. It's advertised at 300 lumens and has 4 levels of brightness, along with a strobe. It uses one CR123A.

The on/off and brightness switch is a twist of the barrel, and I wanted this over a push-button switch to minimize the chances of the light turning on in my pocket. I like the light, and it is very bright for its size. Only problem I've had with it is that it was occasionally activating in my pocket - I solved that problem by putting a small length of plastic tubing over a small portion of the two halves of the barrel - hasn't activated inadvertently since. Also, some of the black finish has worn off. http://powertacusa.com/flashlights/k...product_id=157

I've got a super tiny Streamlight Nano on my keychain. It's about the size of a 9mm round, and uses hearing aid batteries.
    Pretty bright for the size.
I've also clipped it to my computer bag zipper tabs during flights.

Best single AAA I've found. It's a twist-on-off, but you can use your thumb or a finger to cover the lense if you need an instant on or off capability.

It's probably bigger than you want, but i've had a Streamlight Microstream on my keychain for about 5 years and have no complaints.

Photon battery issue is a lot easier to deal with when you come to terms with the light, not the battery alone, being disposable.

Ain't that the truth for tiny battery lights when it comes to the cost of replacement batteries verses the cost of total replacement.

Yeah, I was thinking that as a photon light or two has hit the trash. I got an Inox at LLBean in Freeport (we were on vacation) and put that on the keychain.

Oh, well. Everytime I buy a new light, my wife wants one too.
