I'm so glad to see .38 Special ammo dropping in price. A couple of months ago, $25 per box was a really good price. Shaw Armament beats the price you found for range ammo. They have several choices for $18.50 per box--148 gr wadcutters and 158 gr LRN, various brands. Shipping costs are very reasonable. I just ordered a few boxes. Hopefully they'll ship in a reasonable time frame. Need to keep my S&W Model 15 well fed!

My last few orders with Shaw took over a week handling time before they shipped out...so my orders took almost two weeks to make the 2.5 hour drive from their place to mine.

My last few orders with Shaw took over a week handling time before they shipped out...so my orders took almost two weeks to make the 2.5 hour drive from their place to mine.

That sort of shipping time is usually fine with me, but I'm a bit more than 2.5 hours away. I've had some paper targets on order with another company since April 3, which is a little irksome, but still not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
