I managed to buy two whole boxes of 9mm from Academy Sports tonight @ $16 per box. It's Monarch steel-cased, but I'll take it. They have a two box limit. Apparently they managed to receive a shipment during the winter weather while the store was closed. I guess that a lot of people are dealing with storm-related issues or perhaps just not venturing out, so ammo has been in stock longer. I know this store puts ammo out on Wednesday and Sunday mornings. The last time I was in on a Friday morning and there was no ammo to be found. If you're in an area that has had a tough time with the weather this past week, it might be worth the effort to check any big box store that still sells pistol ammo.

I thought I was smart and started shooting a lot more 38 Super when the crunch hit. Heck, it was available and the price didn't go up nearly as much as 9mm and 45ACP at first. But now -- it's just gone. No 38 Super available, so I assume none of the manufacturers are making it because they are busy producing 9mm and 45ACP. I bought enough to last a while, but still I hope it will become available again at some point.

I remember walking into a Walmart in Groton, CT a few months after Sandyhook, and the only ammo on the shelf was .22 long of all things.

Eh, I appreciate any links posted to in-stock 9mm; on a given day, depending upon how flush my checking account is, I have to decide if it's a "deal"..

I recently spend [too much] on a case of HST, but I'm now feeling better about my stash of carry ammo.
