    Short shotgun shells

At only 1.75" in length, the Aguila minishells offer a much higher tube capacity, but they are also known to flip around in the loading tray and jam up 870's and 500's.

I see that other companies make shotgun shells in a variety of lengths: 2.5", 2.25", etc

So does anyone have experience with short shells that will reliably function in a Remington 870 without tying up the loading tray?

None of the sub 2" shells we tried worked very well in 870's; 2.5" seemed to function acceptably.

So do the 2.5" shells provide an appreciable enough difference in capacity? Any usable defensive 2 1/2 inch shells?

Was talking about this recently. Given the trend in reduced recoil 2.75" shells, if a maker could get that load into a 2.25" or 2.5" shell, it might well be possible to get another shell of capacity (a good percentage more capacity in a 7+1 system) without giving up terminal effect.
