Holster choice

Hi I am new here nice forums, I was wondering if you could help me a friend of mine was looking at this holster on Ebay to wear to a PI themed party.

And its her birthday and I though I would get a replica hand gun for her to look the part of a P I .

Any idea how I would go about finding out what gun would fit this holster ?

I have no idea about such things and she is going to order the holster for sure.

Looks like a 1911 type holster to me.
