Optics Planet has the Burris XTR II 5-25x50 34mm tube FFP SCR MIL on sale for $629 if you order the ugly sand camouflage color. I have one of these on my long range rifle and it is a VERY good scope for that price. I just ordered a second one at that price. I do not care how ugly it is if it works...…...

I'm assuming the Viper PST Gen 1 glass is better than the Strike Eagle series, but maybe I am wrong about this.

The Gen 1 Vortex PST 6-24 is a solid scope. I've been running one for about five years on a precision rifle.
I played with a Gen 1 Strike Eagle 1-8 and wasn't impressed but don't have any experience with the higher magnification models.
