    Federal TruBall

A quick question for Doc,would it be better to carrythe Federal Tactical TruBall rifled slug or the Federal Vital-Shok TruBall Deep Penetrator as my slug round? This will be for home defense/vehicular carry,I'm currently swapping out my 00 buckshot for the Federal Tactical #1 stuff.

Damn the hivel loads kicks the cap outta me. Low recoil option I could tolerate.

The deep penetrating load would be better for getting into cars if that's part of your mission.

It might be,depends if I'm involved in a multi-perp shootout outside my house defending my family, that scenario may never happen but I'd like to be prepared, currently I'm using Hornady TAP 00 buck and Winchester segmenting slugs,I also have some PDX12 and 3" 000 buck in reserve.

That TAP and the Federal Flightcontrol loads use the same wad the last I knew, and that wad is why they pattern so crazy tight. Not a bad choice.

I'm not a fan of 3" mag loads, very heavy recoil.

I agree, the 3" are for putting in my friend's shotgun when they're not looking ,is the #1 buckshot advantageous enough to sell my 00 stuff and stock up?

Not IMHO, it's slightly better as far as patterning, it's not .410 vs 10 gauge better

How much vehicle domination do you want out of slugs?
