Gray Ops Firearms Specialty Training, Inc. Presents:

Fundamental Carbine:

This is an entry level course for carbine shooters. This class is geared for those who have not had any formal instruction. Topics covered include safety, stance, zeroing for iron sights and optics, sight alignment and trigger control. Familiarization with their carbine includes field stripping and maintenance. Other subject matter that is covered includes reloads, presentation, shooting positions, and introduction to different skill drills including dry fire and live fire shooting.

Class requirements:
  • Serviceable carbine typical calibers are 9mm, 45 ACP, 30 cal, 5.56 mm, 7.62 x 39mm
  • Serviceable sling- suitable for a variety of shooting positions tactical type preferred
  • Minimum 1 magazine pouch or method to carry spare magazine(s)
  • Minimum of 3 serviceable magazines (5 is better)
  • 300 rounds of ammo service type
  • Eye & Ear protection
  • Suitable range wear depending on the season

Transitional Carbine:

This course will be sure to take your carbine skills to the next level. We will review much of what was covered in our beginner tactical carbine course but closely focus on developing speed and accuracy by incorporating more advanced shooting drills to include but not limited to:
  • Alternate shooting positions
  • Shooting around, over and under barriers
  • Strong to support hand transitions
  • More advanced shooting while on the move
  • Timed drills
  • Malfunction drills
  • Transition to side arm

* Required and recommended equipment same as Fundamental Carbine to include 500 rounds of serviceable factory loaded rifle ammunition and 200 rounds of pistol ammunition.

Additional Equipment:
  • Serviceable Semi-Automatic Pistol (Only 9x19mm through .45 caliber allowed)
  • Belt or thigh worn pistol holster (no cross draws or chest mounted holsters)
  • 2+ serviceable pistol magazines.
  • Ability to carrier s pistol magazines on the body

** Courses of fire dictated by the shooters skill level

*** Certificate of completion from our Fundamental Carbine course or a comparable course from an accredited instructor required to attend (please contact for approval prior to singing up). Equivalent experience will be considered on a case by case basis.

You are required to make sure your rifle is zeroed as there will be no time for zeroing. A bare bones minimum zeroed distance for any tactical carbine should be 50 yards. If you have questions please contact us for clarification:
