My Shield has a MRDS - but the irons are about 6" high at 25
My wife's Shield which is stock - is slightly high at 25 - maybe 2"

So with yours, how do they shoot inside 10 yards or so?

Just a rough math estimate that isn't exact because of sight to bore offset and ballistics but will be close enough for handgun work between 0 and 25 yards.
The Shield has a sight to bore offset of approx. 0.600" so at zero yards it will shoot 0.600" low.
If it shoots 2" high at 25 yards then we have a total bullet "rise" (it's not really rising, we're just talking bore axis to sight line intersection relation) of 2.6" from 0 yards to 25 yards (-0.6" to +2").
At 12 yards POI should be approx. 1.2" above POA.
At 6 yards POI should be approx. 0.5" above POA.
Zero should be somewhere around 3 yards.
From 5 to 10 yards your POI will be between +.5 to 1" above POA.
