A friend of mine SBRd one of those cheap GSG5 pistols, added a PDW stock and K-foregrip, and a Gemtech can. It's basically a semi .22 MP5K-PDW now, and cool as hell.

The dedicated uppers are expensive, much more expensive than SBR'ing the 15/22 I have on hand. I'm researching rolling my own upper as well.

Might as well SBR the 15/22.

Whatever route you go, LL, I expect you to put a can on it, and start a thread with instructions on how to play Funky Town on the steel at every local range.

Had a taccom dedicated 22 upper that I ran on my sbr with a better mag... While good it doesn't compare with this:

Absolutely runs like a sewing machine! I went with a 7" barrel, swr warlock 2 peaking out the front of the handguard.

If you already have the 15/22 and a trust, gratification is only around $250 and 35 days away. Do it. You won't regret it.

NFA is a lot like motorcycles in that regard... it's hard to apply logic and reason to illogical and unreasonable purchases.

    6.5 inches.

I don't like to pay or wait for shit like a simple barrel chop and thread. Don't pay if you don't have to.
