I think I'm gonna make that 25 yard BD a staple.

That's a good idea, 25 yard Bill Drills are very demanding.

I had to do a 2 Bill drill, as we had recruits and SWAT using the longer ranges. I shot the 7 yrd and 15 yrd an extra time.

P220 with Trijicon HD sights, Bladetech Eclipse OWB holster

    7y: 1.53-4.21, 6A 1.50-3.44, 5A/1B 1.63-3.51, 6A

    15y: 1.65-5.26, 5A/1B 2.04-5.54, 4A/2B 1.97-4.94, 3A/2B/1C

Thoughts on the P220: I'm having trouble with the sight picture on the HDs. Even taking my time now I am having issues getting my sight picture right. I know this sounds very simple, but when I focus on the front sight I have trouble seeing how much daylight is on the right side of the front post. This is a new issue for me, not sure if its because I've been using factory sights on my other Sigs/Glocks so much or what.

P229 (.40), Bladetech IDPA paddle holster

    7y: 1.55-4.45, 6A 1.58-3.20, 4A/1B 1.44-3.16, 4A/2B

    15y: 1.68-5.41, 6A 1.79-4.84, 6A 1.92-5.00, 6A

Other than my first string at the 15y where it took me 1.34 seconds to break the last shot (next to last shot broke at 4.07) and short stroking the trigger the first time (shot the P220 first with the short reset trigger), everything went smoothly. My "B" hits were just barely outside of the "A" zone. I'm still hunting the front sight a bit on this one. The night sights are worn out and there is no color around the tritium insert. Next month I'm going to have them swapped out for the white outline Trijicons like on my P229 SAS. Tracking the front sight is much easier with that set up.

Smith & Wesson M&P9 full size, Blade-Tech IDPA holster, IDPA target, no concealment.

    7 yards: 1st run: 3.65, -3 (splits were 1.95, .38, .36, .33, .31, .32) 2nd run: 3.32, -2 (1.61, .42, .34, .31, .32, .32)

    15 yards: 1st run: 5.03, -2 (2.01, .73, .57, .58, .54, .60) 2nd run: 4.87, -2 (1.78, .54, .55, .53, .80, .67)

    25 yards: 1st run: 7.55, -5 (2.28, .90, .90, 1.06, 1.36, 1.01) 2nd run: 6.07, -6 (2.06, .86, .86, .74, .76, .79)

I ran this drill cold, my first live fire in two weeks. On several runs I lost track of the front sight part way through, as can be seen in some of the splits. Also, I need to do more 25 yard shooting.

Equipment used: M&P9, JMCK AIWB, concealed. USPSA Metric target

    7 yards: 2.32 6A, 2.19 6A

    15 yards: 3.19 5A1C, 3.57 6A
I had a brain fart and forgot to get a picture of the 15 yard results

    25 yards: 5.10 5A1C, 5.24 5A1C

I think I'll be doing more 25 yard Bill Drills in the future. I did way better on them than I thought I would; I think the consistent rhythm helped keep things tight.
One of the biggest and most common mistakes gun owners make is assuming that they are done learning how to shoot.

Grand Power X-Trim, DAA Racemaster holster, no concealment.
    IPSC target

    7yd
    - 2.68 - All A
    - 2.65 - All A

    15yd
    - 4.77 - 4A, 2C
    - 4.04 - 3A, 3C

    25yd
    - 4.70 - 1A, 5C
    - 4.60 - 4a, C, D

Observations - My draw to first shot times can improve especially at 7 & 15yd. Need to get back on timed accuracy drills at 25yd. I have done many 25yd bills and I used to be able to hit 6A with better speed. The drifted grouping at 25yd I thin is due to vision & sighting problems. I would really prefer a more open rear sight, I think the notch width is around 0.100 which I am having trouble working with.

I need to dial way back on the 25 yard speed for the BD to learn.

I've been meaning to try and participate in these more week to week. Had a few extra minutes at the work range on Friday and got to shoot this one.

Equipment was my duty gear; Safariland 6360 (level III), stock Sig 226. USPSA metric target. Shot cold.

    7 yards: 2.17; 6A 2.12; 6A

    15 yards: 3.57; 5A, 1C 2.88; 3A, 3C

    25 yards: 5.57; 4A, 2C 5.13; 3A, 2C, 1D

    Notes:

-My duty pistol with stock springs bounces around a lot more than my game gun (also a 226, but sprung for minor PF ammo). It was particularly noticeable at the 25; I felt like the gun was all over the place.

-I REALLY miss the fiber optics doing more demanding paced shooting. I have Dawson 3 dots on my work gun, and while I like them for what they are, I absolutely have more difficulty tracking them at speed than the fibers.

-I shoot a lot better when I'm warmed up.
