Should be interesting to read about if you have the time to post your results.

I'll echo others here in that I found forend-mounted lights to be very uncomfortable to my thumb. I used both a G2X (single output) in an offset Gear Sector mount and an X300. The X300 was worse than the G2. Neither were satisfactory, so I switched to a Surefire forend. Sorry, but that's really the best answer for a shotgun light. Iterations:

(apparently the X300 was such a bad idea I didn't even take the time to photo it)

I have a plan Thanks for the input. I have an 870 and an 1100. Both are police dept trade ins that I got fairly inexpensively. 1100 doesn't have a forend available and besides I find that too expensive of a solution.

Been reading up on lights. Most of my experience is with the SF forends, but I've never really liked them. What is the best clamp/mount for a tube light for an M2 and an 870?

I've played around with several configs of lights bolted on in various ways, and I keep coming back to the old-school Laser Products-era SureFire forends. They're heavy, but for me they have the best switching arrangement and comfort.

I was thinking about getting X300U for my pair of 870's. What was the issue is the X300's? The way I roll Surefire fore ends are a no go, I cannot physically work them. Maybe mount up some Surefire Fury's.

    Cheers,

Do you come over the top with the support thumb to activate the mini scout?
