    Army Times feb 13 2015 the M9A3

A question about the Feb 13 2015 article in Army Times about M9A3

How does it differ from the M9 M9A1 and so on.

Also in the top picture what light or laser light is mounted on the M9A3?

BTW It would be funny if army changed to 40cal after the FBI changed back to 9mm .

It would not be funny; it would be an incredible waste of taxpayer funds on multiple levels.

What the military Needs To Do is shit-can the idea of "different guns", and put real money behind troop training.

The fact that I'll get twice as much handgun training in my local Citizen's Police Academy as a civilian then I did active duty Air Force is a disgrace to our military legacy.

Kinda sounds like a classic Pentagon weapons buy then, doesn't it?

There is a fairly comprehensive discussion of the M9A3 in this thread.

Don't even get me started on how my (DOD) agency ended up carrying P229R DAKs procured through the Coast Guard and 155 gr 40 S&W ammunition procured via other DHS sources - all because "the FBI carries 40s, we have to catch up!"

Love to have a short extractor P229R 40cal DAK or DA.
One of my all time favorite pistols from Sig.

    I used 180gr HST

and just because I think its funny if the army adopts the 40S&W after the FBI switches to 9mm please don't turn this into a 40S&W vs 9mm or 45ACP

I really like to know about the pistol and the light/laser that mounted on the first pistol.

Funny how that works. Especially when you have to take your STRAC (yearly ammo allocation) that you get for 106 weapons to "qualify" and actually use it to train 20 people over the course of three days and they all can qual expert and then shoot 50s on the new FBI qual. Oh well, I guess I'll just ask for more ammo and hope to get it, since the rest of the Army doesn't like to shoot pistol.

Notice the difference there, STRAC is per system not per soldier. Gives some insight into how DA sees things.
