I just received an automated notice that there has been five unsuccessful attempts to log in to my account on this forum. I did not, however, try to log in. I thought I would make note, in case there is a larger issue that requires some administrative attention by the forum.
I just saw on a fairly large outdoors forum that they have been having trouble with Chinese hack attempts. The theory is that they may be trying to get in accounts, then see if theres any useful personal info, and/or see if passwords cross reference to your other sites/activities.
They completely shut off access from China and temporarily made most forum sections private, or "sign in only" to read or see them.
It may be worthwhile to clean up incoming and outgoing PM's of personal info.
