I got a Form 1 back today, that I submitted through my trust 12/29.

For the "uninitiated"; there are different examiners. Sometimes there can be a slight discrepancy.

However, considering we're talking weeks versus months or years; this is lightning fast.

My SBR between Form 3 and then subsequently Form 4. Took about 14-15 months by comparison to 45-60 days.

ETA: That was also during the madness post sandy hook.

Sorry, to clarify, this was a lower that will become a SBR. My Saker 7.62 purchased same day through Silencer Shop is still pending the Form 3.

Waiting on a Form 3 to clear on an AAC Ti-Rant 9 that I purchased on 12/31 (just under the wire for the 'Damn the Man!' promotion).

I win! Only 54 more months until I leave this place and move someplace where NFA is allowed.

To be fair, you can get an SBR now if you are an 03 FFL or member of a "reenactment group". I keep waiting for "Jim-Bob's Short Barrel Rifle Reenactors" to form.
Progress is slow, unfortunately. I'm just positive that the Chicago politicians still believe that a suppressor turns a 300 Win Mag into a whimsical little mouse fart like you hear in Hollywood.

While it certainly is good, forming a Trust avoids CLEO involvement entirely and also has some additional benefits not available when going the Individual route.

    Just something to consider....

That is, trusts avoid CLEO involvement until BATFE changes the regs to require all "responsible persons" to be fingerprinted and submit CLEO sign offs...which may happen this year...
