My platoon daddy days are behind me, I'm in a liaison detachment now. 9 assigned! lol.

I'd by lying if I said I didn't miss it at times though. I had a hell of a 36 assigned and the feeling of their loyalty and pride in our platoon was the best feeling I've known in uniform. No award or special duty or anything else has come close.

It is a weird flex.. I couldn't wait to get them off my head and into my pouch lol

Exactly! They're awesome when you're doing night shit, but even if you get your helmet just right, it was wonderful to pop the damn thing out of that RINO mount and put them in the pouch. Instant neck/headache relief for me in many cases.

Fun video! But leaving any NV mounted on your helmet in the daylight is just a rookie geardo flex - and that tendency in YT vids is being mimicked by younger Soldiers honestly thinking it's best practice. Strange times!

Well when you’ve got 31s, they’re so light that it’s not that big of a deal. Most other nods, not so much.

I hated wearing NODs on the tank. I was always banging them around - I found it way easier to use them as bino’s.

That is an itch that I can already scratch. It's hard to believe they were viewed with such distain 30 years ago.
