It is an AK with a hinged monolithic rail that uses AK parts.

Edit: Found this spec sheet http://akfiles.com/forums/showpost.p...4&postcount=64
Does anyone have any feedback on these? A friend is asking about them and I got nuthin’. I’d never heard of them until he asked yesterday.

I haven't shot one, but the one I got to handle and field strip in a gun store was very interesting. Like an AK had a kid with a SIG551/SCAR-L hybrid. The FCG and magazine and lower parts are all very AK like if not exactly AKM parts, the upper half doesn't really resemble an AK in any meaningful way beyond being a long-stroke gas piston system.

I know they changed some stuff like the stock and the muzzle threads and a few other parts since they first released it in 2016ish. Have you looked for a Rob Ski review? I've always found his AKOU stuff entertaining and informative.

Thanks! He messaged me last night so I haven’t had a chance to do much looking yet but I’ll definitely see if Robski has done anything.

Robski only had hands on a preproduction rifle. He made some recommendations and sent it back. I don’t even think he ever fired it.

It’s an interesting idea, but I can’t help but view it as an over complicated solution to a relatively small problem.

Interesting mix of Russian AK variants in a single picture. AK12 (slick), AK12 with 1P87 and 30mm GP grenade launcher), painted AK74 with suppressor/light (possibly a real Aimpoint M4S). One of the AK12s has an old style AK74 magazine and the AK74 guy has one of the new AK12 magazines.

I wonder if all the hard core AK porn on the 24hour news has led to an uptick in sales?

I’m just waiting for Atlantic to get a new batch of Beryls in stock but I think all their production is bound for places South and not West.

Looks like the same guy on the right with the 1P87 and the 30mm grenade launcher. Wonder how the guy on the left aims his AK?

My 5.56 Beryl rifle has become my go-to defensive long gun loaded with Black Hills TSX. I've stocked up on mags and got a spare bolt, but I still want a backup rifle. They're incredible guns.
