Question Front sight surface rust recommendations?

I recently installed an aftermarket front sight on my P-07 to correct some POA/POI issues. I noticed some surface rust developing and originally thought to remove the sight and cold blue it after cleaning. Unfortunately, the set screw is stuck, and is stripping the Allen wrench.

What do you all recommend? Should I:

    1. Drill the screw out, remove and re-blue the sight
    2. Try to get as much rust cleaned off and call it good?

I'm hesitant to remove the sight again because it is made from a very soft metal- even using the correct tools and fitting the sight caused slight deformation during the install.

Will the rust penetrate the slide finish (if it has developed beneath the top of the slide)?

Here's a picture of the sight:

    Thanks,
    JD

Eezox is a great rust preventative but I have experienced it melting certain plastics. You may want to try some on a spare piece of FO rod first.lr

I shoot the snot out of mine, in the hopes that recoil vibrations will shake the rust off. It hasn't worked so far, but that only means I don't shoot enough!

Of course, if you want to actually preserve the gun and minimize the rust, I'm an Eezox fan for that.

Scrub it off with oil. When it's dried, rub it with something like this.
