And was I the only one to wonder why the resident did not open fire the moment the foot came through the door? Is there any doubt at all about what is happening by the time someone's foot comes through your door?

If I started spraying rounds through my front door, I'd send them into the apartment across the hall if I missed my target.

Given that situation, I would have taken a defensive position, angling for any errant shots to go through the exterior wall (clearly shown when he opens the door) and waited for him to get mostly through the doorway, before engaging.
