Sept. 18, 1999: Gary Levitz of Grand Prairie, Texas died when his P-51 disintegrated during a race, scattering debris and damaging a house.
I saw this one happen in person. Such a helpless feeling watching the airplane tumble towards the horizon. I still have dreams of witnessing a variety of airplane accidents that I am trying to run to but can't get any closer.

Anyone who has flown a 4-day with *THAT* captain knows what I’m taking about.
The other day I was discussing various terms for doing the after start control check...
1. “Left knee. Right knee. Weenie.”
2. “Watch your crack, I’m coming back.”
Strangely, none of these folks had heard these terms before. I can’t be THAT old right?
HR has taken all the fun from this job I swear.
