I am not really a gunsmith, more of a hobbyist with some skills.
This was a 7.5" Redhawk that I knew had to be shorter as soon as I picked it up.
Cut to just under 4", milled to accept a Bowen front sight block and slicked up the action.
Took one of the factory rings and modified it to carry a RDS in this case a Burris FF3.
Guns are just machines and without you they can do no harm, nor any good
Be still, my beating heart...
I've got a 7.5 Redhawk with a nice trigger and an Alaskan...
1.) Got any good 44 mag loadings you'd like to share?
2.) Any good advice for 7.5" carry (field) - I think I might do some hunting next year. I've never done it, but I think I might like to try it.
296 is my go to powder. H110 is good too (some say is it rebranded 296). 2400 is fine for 240 and lesser weights.
I ran 290 to 315 LBT cast in most of my 44's back in the day.
I only "hunted" with 4" guns. I am not a fan of long tubes. Back when I could see, shorter sight radius was not an issue.
4" guns are easy to cary OWB strong side hip.

Picked up some new Altamonts for the M28. Finger grooves, glossy, a bit away from my usual. I’ll try them out and see...
Working diligently to enlarge my group size.
