Haven't shot all summer so I broke out the CO top end for my 229. Only had one mike, but a few too many C/Ds.

Pretty rough match today. Shit lots of alphas but the dang barrels got me today. Instead of using hard cover they use barrels to make shots harder. Watch the wood fly on the first stage, hard to tell but that was the hardest lean I've ever taken at a match, and it was a 12yard head shot.

Custer's range is one of the best run with very interesting bays which allows them to design fun and challenging stages. This month's match had lots of low ports which makes it hard for aging knees to deal with, at least the bays had soft sand. I felt slow in some stages because I was waiting for a perfect sight picture instead of shooting early, calling my shots and correcting them if needed.

Headed down to Albany, Oregon to shoot the 2016 Columbia Cascades Sectional Level II match at the fabulous Albany Rifle Club. Managed to squeak in a 3rd place finish with lots of abruptness and hesitation in my shooting. Did not feel smooth at all except for one stage. I think my shooting platform is weak while moving, so I know what I'm going to work on for the next few weeks. That said, I thought my steel work was awesome! Thanks to Jemy for taking video of me from other angles.

Congratulations on the 3rd!
I've watched a lot of your videos and I've never seen you take that many extra shots. Did you call bad shots and make them up or was there equipment issues or ? Either way, great shooting! I hope my question does not offend you, I mean nothing negative.

Here's my video from the Columbia Cascade Section Championship.
I ended up First Place / Overall Production Match Winner. The margin was razor thin, less than 1% (8 points). I shot 92.5% of the points and had zero penalties.
Thanks to Mr. White for the video since it was so hot my phone wouldn't work... Only got 6 of 8 stages though.
