Home range advantage. More relaxed attitude towards shooting works.

Rain is back in the Pacific Northwest!! I like shooting in the rain... except for the mud.

look out door fat man coming through

From my first actual IPSC match in a year, 1st place by 11% overall. A few brain fades, one gets lazy when one is just shooting for fun at his own range apparently

Here's my view of the PB match on Sunday. Silly, stupid mistakes. My dot was too bright on Stage 4 - Pushy and what I thought was my dot was actually the reflection artifact from having the dot too bright shining on the lens. That's why I missed that headshot from such a close distance.

and my weak hand is.... weak.

Sundays match, all large stages 31-33 rounds (yeah, rules who cares right?). First place in PD by 7.6%. I believe wold have won Standard (scores still in minor) and 2nd or 3rd in Open, possible win in Classic too. Felt good to hit what we'd call a major match and not make any major errors. Hit the hard targets no problem, including the awesome double swingers on Stage 1 (can't see them in my video). Now to train harder and lose more mass.

Stage 1, a 270 degree range, sort of. Had a miss on a double stack target, let the recoil carry 2nd shot up into top target. Then had a hard time seeing Poppers when I opened the door.

Stage 2, a nice give'r stage, that I screwed in the window, again on poppers that I just couldn't see well. No sun in my eyes this time so I don't know WTF really.

Stage 3, things coming together. Could have down a few things better, but first stage win of the day

    the next

Stage 4, again, things improving, IPSC mini targets at 15, challenging, but fun, another win

Stage 5, need to trust my sights more and riser/faller targets, and could've moved more. But won this one too

Stage 6, actually the first stage win of the day, not stage 3, as I shot this one first. Bloody moving steel (or is that my front sight trying to leave too quick?) Totally pooched my plan after the first reload, had to make due and try and save it and squeaked out a nice stage win.

Fun USPSA match at Marysville Rifle Club's monthly in Marysville, WA. It was a late start for me with lots of stupid mistakes but got better as the day progressed. We started on Stage 4.

Robot, love that last stage, Paper, poppers Paper. Great run.

Took this today with a new headcam I got, Tachyon Ops HD. This is the first headcam I've owned and editing was done on Youtube, which sucks. I am impressed with the quality of the video considering the poor lighting conditions, dark, with crappy overhead lights. No idea on my hits as the targets were shot to crap. Yes it was only 7yds as well. Sight picture looked good, and my time, I think it was 4.87 or something, was in line with my normal clean runs. Reload wasn't bad, but I can do better. I find that I transition better right to left, which goes against 90% of what I've been told or taught, so whenever possible I go that way. Although I won't do it just for the sake of it, it still has to make sense on a stage.

    USPSA Production Nationals...

Felt good the entire match - didn't push very hard at all.
Finished 22nd overall, 81% of Eric Grauffel.

    Beretta ran like a top!
