Local IDPA match. I took 3rd CO and 87% of a buddy who was in the top 20 at Nationals. I don’t shoot IDPA much, and found it hard to pick the down 0 circle instead of using it like a Metric USPSA.
This was a fun stage. If you turn up the sound, you can hear a screaming woman soundtrack as the mover starts. It sounded like my wife when she found a half a dead rabbit or weedwhacked the head off a snake.

Nice and fast level 2 USPSA match. Miked the world slowest swinger, but things started to come together well enough for me.
Put new grips on the CZ earlier this week and what was suppose to be the shake down match was canceled due to rain. So...yeah my last major of the year and I decided to run untested gear
I shot a local IDPA match with my carry gear: CZ P-07 ProGrade, EPS, JMCK WC 2.5, Tenicor Abdo mag pouch. @GJM and I have been discussing how much of a handicap it is to shoot a carry gun vs. a gamer gun, and this was a good test. This match I placed 4th, 12% behind a guy who was in the top 20 at Nationals this year. 14 points down. Last match I shot a Shadow2, placed 3rd, and 15% behind him, 15 points down. So with a sample size of 1, there's not a big difference in this game. But in USPSA, I'm pretty sure the difference would be more significant.
This is the only video that's interesting enough to watch. 5 shots were required on the 15yd drop-turner, and the exposures were quick. There were lots of unhappy shooters on this one. I got 5 hits but the 6th was an oblique hit that was not counted--IDPA rule I was unaware of.

Interesting double match weekend. Saturday was a local Time plus hosefest, where as Sunday was a very challenging USPSA match (30+ yard tight partial while at a hard lean anyone?)
There was also an RO shortage at the match so I got volunteered to run a squad of new shooters where English was not their first language.
After running them a few times and seeing that the likely hood of getting shot was reasonably low, I was able to relax a bit.
It definitely affected my scores(as did the creative and or non existent score on my runs ), but having to handle a situation well outside my comfort zone and push trough it was a good experience.
Other than the scoring issue, it was a good match and I think the squad had an overall good day and positive impression on the sport
It’s been a while since I’ve posted match videos, but I have been consistently competing. Yesterday I made the trek to compete in an Outlaw PCSL match. I used a recently acquired Walther PDP Match SF that I only put 58 rounds through the day prior to zero the optic and try some doubles to get a feel for the recoil impulse. This is a fun gun to shoot and I will probably use it for these PCSL style matches. The recoil spring will be changed for a lighter one and I have a Carey Concealment X1 Raptor holster on the way. I used a PHLster Floodlight OWB and attached a TLR-1 to the gun for this match. That worked just fine as well.
My two favorite stages of the match are below.
Time: 22.35
18A, 7C, 1D
Time: 32.86
18A, 20C, 1D, 2M

USPSA match from 27 Oct. With regards to USPSA, I’ve been competing pretty consistently in single-stack, both minor and major PF, since May. I was the only single-stack shooter at this match and 1 of 6 irons shooters. I have a habit of shooting some stages really well and then tanking 1 or 2. My best 2 stages I was 5/35 and 6/35… my worst was 19/35. Overall finish 14/35. I really need to work on consistent performance from stage to stage so I can stop min/maxing. Regardless, this was a fun match.

Match today was OK. I havnt been shooting much lately due to hunting and shot my lw champion from concealment with my 200gr swc at 950fps from the 4" barrel. I could definitely see the difference on the targets compared to my 5" steel gun I normally shoot with. Not drastic but enough to drop a few points when there's no shoots to avoids.
Missed 2 targets complet and had 2 fail to feeds that needed to be pounded in. Between carrying and not cleaning in close to 1k rounds of cast reloads I guess I learned my lesson.

Second outing with CO finishing with 97.98% of a GM. I threw one shot on my first stage scoring a M/NS costing me the HOA
So far the switch to the dot has not been too bad, I do catch myself about half way through a stage reverting to dot focused, so that is something I will have to work on.
Overall I am looking forward to see where this goes. As much as I enjoy Production, I just wasn't having fun with it anymore largely due to having no one to compete 1:1 with at most matches.
