I sold this S&W 65-3 to a fellow prosecutor "back in the day". I always regretted that. Recently, I contacted her to see if she still had it. Indeed she did, and was graciously willing to sell it back to me for the original price. She was unable to find the box, cleaning rod, etc. However, she did find a couple original documents, the DeSantis holster, and the DeSantis ammo pouch. I'm glad to have it back and won't repeat my earlier mistake. From the Big Empty, ELN.

I carried a 65 3" for a bit. I let that one go to a fellow comrade @ work. Wish I could get it back. My only current 3" S&W is this 27-2. A fine revolver in it's own right.

I've finally figured out not to let guns go, just buy another gun safe to store them in.

When I got this S&W model 64-6 it had a 4” barrel and was a solid shooter. I would take it to the range from time to time and when I first started reloading I used it as my test pistol for 38 specials. I figured if I did something wrong I had no sentimental value with it. It sat in my safe more than anything. I’m at least the third owner. The previous owner advised this was used as a Prison Guards duty handgun at a private prison in Montana. In this capacity it was engraved with an electric pencil.

I saw some revolver work by Dave at Defensive Creations that I liked and sent him a message with my wants. He messaged me back with a price that I felt was beyond reasonable and this is what I got back. It now has a 3” barrel so it belongs in this thread. I need to take some day time pictures tomorrow.

Sucks compared to a 2-3/4" Speed-Six. As related by an angry Irishman.

Just a Hairy Special Snowflake supply clerk with no field experience, shooting an Asymetric carbine as a Try Hard. Snarky and easily butt hurt. Favorite animal is the Cape Buffalo....likely indicative of a personality disorder.

I love Smith Wheelguns. The 3-Inch are my favorites for IDPA.
When everyone around you is running, screaming, and losing their minds...look for the quiet old gray haired cop because he's about to kick down some doors and sort some unruly bastards out.
