    I believe that:

    No, they are titled as rifles. Barrel < 16”. is SBR and NFA paperwork.

    Now if we could get some imported as firearms , it might be possible, would need to be > 26” OAL. Doubt this could be done.

    I have no idea what the overall length of an AUG with a 14.5” barrel is. You can pin+weld a muzzle device to a 14.5” barrel to take care of the 16” barrel requirement, and depending on the length of that device it might keep you above 26” overall.

    Biggest thing I hate about my AUG is the 1/9 twist, would love to find a 1/7 16 inch that doesn't cost a arm and a leg.

    I'm fighting an irrational desire for a 20" AUG barrel. I doubt I'll ever wear out my 16" barrel, but who knows if Steyr will make these available again?

    Yeah. Heavy bullets good. I blame the “original AUGs were 1/9 and that’s what I want crowd”
