Came back from Napa Valley wineries tour two weeks ago. Very detrimental to my wallet and liver. Lotsa fun.

Faroe Islands and Greenland are on my bucket list.
Boudro's on the Riverwalk is great.
My favorite is Tuscany, out in the middle of nowhere, exploring some hill town. I've had family in town the past few days, and we've been rolling through my supply of Vino Nobile dI Montepulciano.
Obviously I'll need to go back and get more.
Sheep Have Wool
Just got back from two weeks in Florida that was part business and pleasure. I have some trips planned to Arizona and St. George, UT this winter and am hoping to stretch the legs on my precision rifle in both places. Of course the pistol skills will be honed as well.
-Seconds Count. Misses Don't-
Headed to North Carolina next week for five days...nothing too exciting but it's been awhile since we've gone out of state, so it will be a nice change. Almost more importantly, no work next week.
I hope it's cold up there.
Daughter is coming to visit around Christmas so I'm taking a couple weeks off. Then there is the annual January camping trip in southeastern Ohio.
A couple of weeks ago, my girlfriend flew me off to Paris for a week for my 50th. That was the trip of a lifetime, and I've had a few good ones in the last couple of years. Next up is likely Puerto Rico in March as she has a work event she'd like me to accompany her for. I was on the fence about going (pro: Puerto Rico; con: being the escort for her work-related dinner functions, etc.) but I owe her one and what the Hell? It is PR after all. I plan to get some diving in while she does breakout sessions and the like.
I finished my first hiking/primitive camping trip in Guadalupe Mountains National Park a couple weeks ago. It was not fun at all, due to the complete failure of accurate weather forecasts for essentially my entire trip, along with some basic errors in packing. However, it was hugely enlightening, and despite not being fun, was an experience of a lifetime, so I do hope to go go back again within the next couple of years and retrace my route, albeit in fairer conditions. My next camping trip will probably be Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, within the next month or so, while my next extended wilderness trip will most likely be Big Bend National Park, sometime next year. I am also visiting the ROC next year for two weeks; most likely the last time I'll see my grandfather alive.
