This week I saw Dr. Frank Rively, he is an optometrist who specializes in shooting sports.

He is a high level Trap/Skeet competitor and sees shooters out of his RV home which is
parked at various long gun competitions. He will create the correct prescription for
shooting glasses (I got some mono-vision glasses) and will ensure the lenses
are correct and fit them to the frame (I had a set of glasses that were bad,
was it the prescription or the glasses maker that screwed up?) He will
have my new glasses in a week which is shorter then the Internet
Glasses company I normally deal with. And the prices are very reasonable.

I was real impressed that he had experience with competition and the
vision issues that were related to shooting. He is making me two
sets of glasses one for shooting (monovision on wide frames) and
some driving glasses on smaller frames. He does not have a large
pistol customer base so if you see him bring a blue gun. He says
that some of his customers are wifes of gun enthusiasts who see
him only to get away from the anti-gun mentality of their local
optometrist. He has seen some prescriptions intentionally written
wrong because the Dr disproved if the use of guns. I spent about
two hours with him, both discussing my needs and just yacking
about shooting.

He winters in Florida and lives in central Pennsylvania and travels all
up and down the east cost following the competition schedule,
he appears to be well known in some shooting communities (I heard
about him from a precision rifle shooter).

It was hard to find him initially so here is his contact info:
