It bothers me when a maker, custom or production sends out a knife with a poorly ground bevel or final edge. After all it's a knife and its job is to cut.
I've sent one or two back over the years for what I considered unacceptable workmanship...but generally, if I like the knife and intend to carry and use it, I just suck it up and sharpen it up myself, scratches on the bevel or flats be damned.
Fortunately, I also know a few makers who know how to build a knife with a fine edge though I haven't been buying new blades of late.
There's nothing civil about this war.
Mine was my first "real" knife, given to me by my father. I haven't used it in decades, but it'll be the last one I own, too.

My latest EDC is an Ontario RAT2, about $27 and it came very sharp out of the box. I also have the larger RAT1 but these days I don't have much use for large knives on a day-to-day basis. Just a slick little pocket knife IMO. Of course I always have a small SAK on me as well.
