"Affordable" pistol to test?

For those curious about the Ruger, Caleb has 5k+ rounds through an SR9. I think he posted a couple articles on his blog about it. AFAIK, the 9E isn't different in any substantial way.

I think an interesting pistol to test would be an RIA 1911. People on gun forums love them (although they love lots of stupid shit). I think an objective test on the much-maligned XD would also be interesting.
