For the retired, thick books are a wonderful thing. I sit in my chair and read in the mornings. I'm indulging my like of history. Covid killed going to the gym. So I read.
I'd had people recommend it for a while, but I just never got around to reading it. Funny enough, I got the trilogy for my mom for her birthday this year because of those recommendations, and she enjoyed it so much that she mailed me her copy of the first book and said "You need to read this." I tore through it in a day and a half, and immediately ordered the full trilogy in paperback. I tore through that in a couple days, and now I've got the next three books (which as I understand aren't a cohesive trilogy, but are set in the same world and have some recurring characters) on the way.

And yes, I also have greatly enjoyed Sanderson's stuff. I need to see what he's done in the past few years, I don't think I've kept up with his output.

I just picked this up in a thrift shop:
If we have to march off into the next world, let us walk there on the bodies of our enemies.
