Yes it was the aerosol. I've had a couple periods in my career where I've had to put The majority of my guns in long-term storage. Several years ago a trusted gun store employee/collector recommended spraying them down with Ee-zoxx and wrapping them in plastic wrap. It worked like a charm the first time. The second time I had a red dot sight and a small plastic part on a newer, budget gun melt a bit. When you touch the part the plastic would come off on your hands like shoe polish.
Gotcha. I suspect it was the propellant in the aerosol can.
