    Heine sight question

    Hey guys
I've got a set of Heinie's on and love them, however I have an issue. I am getting some rust under the rear sight and on the side. I know it won't hurt my beloved USP compact, but has anyone heard a good way to deal with this? I have seen other Heinie's with this problem.
    Thanks

Gentle sanding, then oiling, is usually enough without having to remove the sights, unless your local environment is very humid.

Heinie sights can rust, but it's not a common problem for their Glock sights since they have a Melonite finish. I don't know why they don't Melonite all of their sights.

Use Eezox to help prevent rust, it works well.

I'll try both, I live in Alabama so humidity is always high. I was even thinking about hitting it with some krylon after getting the rust off

    Corrosion-X or spray paint.

According to Dawson, Melonite makes them very hard to file down.

+1 on Corrosion X. Best stuff ever made.

I use to live in In and moved to SWF Punta Gorda in 2003

I thought I would have problems with rust. we have a canal in the back yard and close to the Bay.

But it turns out IN was worse.

I take care of my grandfathers 12GA by spraying it down with WD40 once a year and put it in a silicone sock.
So far haven't any rust. Same with my Microtech side openers that I have in the safe. I clean them once a year and there haven't been any signs of rust.

Im thinking its because of the AC that we run almost 24/7 all year around

How is corrosion – X with plastics?

Ee-zoxx works very well as a corrosion inhibitor but it will react with and melt certain plastics. I learned that one the hard way, melting the body of an inexpensive red dot sight
