Thread: Running and carrying?

    Running and carrying?

I've been running for almost two years now, in addition to my MTN biking. I've yet to come up with a solution for carrying while running. Any recommendations out there? Been leaning towards a larger Camel Back, but access to a pistol would be very slow. My carry sidearms are the P30 and P2000SK.

I'm not willing to change sidearms for running, so any worthwhile advice is appreciated.

I used the solution found here: http://pistol-forum.com/showthread.php?535. You may want to try the Snubby variant, rather than the full-size, if the pistol is the only added thing; the full-size can fit my P30LS with X400U and +5 baseplates with plenty of room to spare, but it is a fair bit of Cordura (for my slim, girlish figure, anyways). The Snubby wouldn't fit my P30 blue gun with the X400 on it, but it'll squeeze in without the WML.

Disclaimer: I am not a runner.... but I have chased kids and cattle more than once. So with that preface. I am curious why AIWB does not work while running?

    The belt won't do.

I wonder if something like this may work with you SK?

Can't be as bad as wearing a duty belt everyday, plus you can carry water too. This is the route I've considered but my motivation to run lately has been lacking.

If a waistpack is a good idea, why not look at the Tommysgunpacks that are on sale right now? There's a thread about that on the forum.

The chafing possibilities are spectacular both with AIWB and any sort of rigid belt. I also like having at least a minor sweat barrier.

    Running and carrying?

I used to wear a G19 in a SmartCarry holster when I ran. I never had an issue and I used to keep the waistline of my shorts below the grip to increase ease of access to the pistol (and to help stabilize it a bit).

    It worked very well.
